7 Deadly Sins
We all know what it is. Most of us are quite familiar with a few of these, if not all. I can sit here and quote scripture.
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28)
"Our sins are more easily remembered than our good deeds." - Democritus
So instead of sitting here and wasting your time. Here is a quick rundown on each individual sin.
- Greed - Wanting too much of anything.
- Gluttony - Is the action of taking too much of anything in.
- Lust - The need to fulfill unholy desires (not just sexual, but normally what people associate it with.)
- Envy - Jealousy; wanting to have what another person has.
- Sloth - Being too slow or lazy at doing something.
- Wrath - Vindictive anger or indignation.
- Pride - Being too self-satisfied
Let's move on to the images. Below are just my interpretations of what the sins mean to me. Various professional models in Oklahoma were utilized for this project. As a professional alternative portrait photographer located in Oklahoma City, this was a complete joy to shoot.
Gluttony
Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. - Philippians 3:19
Lust
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? - Job 31:1
Greed
One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. - Proverbs 11:24
Sloth
A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. - Proverbs 13:4
Wrath
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.' - Romans 12:19 Under Construction!
Envy
A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones. - Proverbs 14:30 Coming Soon!
Pride
Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches... - Jeremiah 9:23 Coming Soon!
