Hosted at the iconic Scissortail Park, the Oklahoma City Heatwave Photomeet brought together a passionate community of photographers and creatives for an afternoon of collaboration and creativity. Running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the event took place in one of the city’s most vibrant outdoor spaces—known for its scenic landscapes, open lawns, and dynamic event atmosphere that regularly hosts gatherings, concerts, and community activities.
While the turnout of models was limited, the energy among photographers was strong, creating a highly collaborative environment where attendees were able to connect, share ideas, and make the most of the available talent. Despite the challenges, the meet provided valuable opportunities to refine shooting techniques, experiment with natural lighting, and network within the local photography scene.
During the event, I had the opportunity to work with two standout models: Ibrahim (@ibrothagoat) and Msunknownreddhead (@vip_.reddhead). Both brought their own unique style and presence to the shoot, allowing for a diverse range of creative compositions and visual storytelling.
Overall, the Heatwave Photomeet was a reminder that even with limitations, creativity thrives in community-driven environments. Events like these continue to strengthen Oklahoma City’s growing photography culture while offering a platform for artists to collaborate, learn, and create.
